Counting the Omer and Holocaust Remembrance Day

“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. … Great is Your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul. ‘Therefore I hope in Him.'” (Lamentations 3:22-24)

Tomorrow, April 19, Israel will observe Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yom HaShoah. Sirens will wail across the country, summoning all to a moment of silence, a holy hush. Afterwards, ceremonies will honor the 6 million Jews who perished at the hands of humanity gone amok. Yet, out of the ashes of history’s unparalleled perversion, came blessed beauty. The modern State of Israel was born.

Normally we suggest intercessory prayer guidelines in our updates. Prayer is always good! Today, however, we believe the Lord has given us a different word: Worship. Worship Him for Who He is. Adore Him for His ways that are not ours. Revel in His victory and presence. Worship, Adore and Revel. Friends, that spells WAR. Genuine worship is warfare. Israel’s enemies today threaten a holocaust worst than the first. Ask God to use your worship today and tomorrow to protect His promised restoration of Israel. For that is the longing of His divine heart.
