As the world celebrates the arrival of 2024, Israel remains entrenched in a devastating war, its government steeped in turmoil. But God is in control and He responds to the prayers of His people!
We offer here a prayer for Israel’s governing leaders and ask you, our friends in the nations, to join in agreement.
“Sovereign and Almighty God, Your Word says that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving should be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness. (1 Tim. 2:1-4) So first of all, we thank You for the gift of government and that ultimately, the government rests on Your shoulders. (Isa. 9:6)
“Your Word says the hearts of kings are in Your hand and, like the waters of a river, You direct what flows from their hearts. (Prov. 21:1) Therefore we ask You to direct the inclinations of the hearts, O God, of our political leaders to align with Your heart and purposes. In Yeshua’s name, may Your kingdom come and Your will be done through them.
“Please grace Israel’s governing leaders with the gift of the fear of the Lord, for it is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. (Prov. 9:10) Your Word says ‘By justice a king gives a country stability.’ (Prov. 29:4) So have mercy, we pray, on Your people and move on the hearts of our governors to love and seek justice, that Israel might have a stable government once again.
“We pray for the salvation of our governing leaders, especially Prime Minister Netanyahu, that Your Spirit would not cease to strive with them to both desire and surrender to Your love, goodness and holy leadership. Would You mercifully give them supernatural revelation of Yeshua as Messiah, who said to the Jewish people that no one comes to the Father except by Him. (John 14:6) Grace our authorities with courage to choose life in Messiah.
“We ask You to protect and keep Mr. Netanyahu and other political leaders in power and in position for as long – and only as long — as You want them in power and governing positions. We proclaim Your Word over them, that ‘There is no authority except from God and those which exist have been put in place by God.’ (Ro. 13:1) So keep and put in place, O God, leaders like King David, who are after Your heart. Prepare and raise up future leaders who will honor You, look to You and be used of You to inspire Israel to seek Your face in the spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:14.
“We declare Your Word over the government of Israel and into all spiritual realms of warfare over it, ‘Hear O Israel and officials who rule in the Land: “The Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King; He will save us’.” (Isa. 33:22) Save us, O Lord!
“We pray for Psalm 133 unity in our government, for there You command a blessing. We bless Israel’s governing authorities in Yeshua’s name with clear and accurate communications, which are essential building blocks of good working relationships. May forgiveness and love of the brethren be released over our leaders one for another, especially among those with strongly opposing views. In Yeshua’s name, let love override hate, division and spiritual darkness besetting our government.
“Wherever demonic forces are at work against the government of Israel, let there now be a release of the power of the Blood of Yeshua to break their impact and influence over our political leaders. Your Word, O God, says there is no witchcraft effective against Jacob; no sorcery against Israel. (Numbers 23:23) So in Yeshua’s name, send forth Your angel armies to dispel, dismantle, disperse and destroy the power of witchcraft against our government. Let light and life be released from heaven to replace and restore to godliness all demonic works of evil in our government, including all high-level covenants of death.
“We speak light and life in Yeshua’s name over Mr. Netanyahu, his Cabinet, every member of Knesset and every judge, as well as every official who governs over the City of Jerusalem. Protect and guard them according to Psalm 91 in every respect. Renew their strength day by day, we pray.
“Concerning the influence of the US and global community on Israel’s political authorities, we proclaim over such influence that ‘You bring the counsel of the nations to nothing; You make the plans of the peoples who oppose You to be of no effect. But the counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.’ (Ps. 33:10-12) In the Name of Yeshua, we bless our governing officials to lead free of ungodly influence from global agendas that are contrary to Your will.
We pray specifically for the peace of Jerusalem in every dimension and for blessing to rest on the governing authorities of the City of Jerusalem.
“Over the Israeli War Cabinet, in the name of Yeshua, let there be a release of divine wisdom, peace, supernatural strength, steadfast courage, clear communications, unshakeable unity, all necessary intelligence, strategic insight and unyielding angelic protections. Rebuke confusion, expose false intelligence and reveal hidden traps or schemes of the enemy. Adonai Tzivaot, show the War Cabinet how to instruct the armies of Israel according to Your strategies. Let there be a release over Israel’s entire government of these same blessings.
“Graciously empower our leaders, O God, to discern the times and know what Israel should do. At the start of 2024, we declare the words of Psalm 24, written by King David, Israel’s ancient governing leader, and ask that You graciously give our leaders of today clean hands and pure hearts to lift up gates of government and everlasting doors, that the King of glory, strong and mighty, mighty in battle, YHVH, would come in. For to You, Israel’s only king, is the honor, the majesty and the power forever. Hallelujah and amen!”
